Your Essential Prenatal Yoga Programme

Prepare My Body: Stretch, Move and Flex in Readiness for Birth

A programme taught by a pregnant woman, for pregnant women

Let's ease youraches and pains

I filmed Prepare My Body throughout my second pregnancy at a time when I was suffering from pelvic girdle pain. Oh my goodness I was in pain.

The only thing that helped me was yoga.

It was lucky (for me) that I was in the process of filming a pregnancy yoga class for every week of my pregnancy. By combining my expertise as a prenatal yoga teacher and my love for a sun salutation, I created a programme for other mums to be while simultaneously easing my pelvic girdle pain! Talk about bish bash bosh.

This programme takes you from week 13 to 40; you can join at any time to take part in pregnancy-safe exercises – practising alongside another pregnant mum-to-be who gets how you feel and what you need to nourish your body in a way which feels good to you.

And if you’re not clear on the benefits of pregnancy yoga? Well, allow me to blow your mind: increased chances of a vaginal delivery, increased bond with your baby, alleviation or easing of pelvic girdle pain and other associated aches, preparation for labour and how to relax. Plus, yoga is just lush!

Whatother parents are saying...

Tried and tested by many happy parents, my multi-award prenatal yoga course is your ultimate guide to a confident birth, and beyond. Here’s what some of them had to say:

The antenatal yoga classes were brilliant. They felt very well thought out and appropriate to the stage of pregnancy. Consideration had been taken for things like pelvic girdle pain and carpal tunnel syndrome. I hadn’t suffered with PGP in this pregnancy but have in previous ones and the alterations would have helped.

The best thing about Butterbean is the yoga. With my first pregnancy, I spent a lot of time looking for workouts on YouTube, and they were all very general and became really repetitive and boring. The fact that different workouts exist for each week is fantastic for keeping it engaging. It also helped that the lady leading the videos was pregnant, too.

The yoga sessions were great. As a second time mum with a toddler I’ve had less time and more stress during this pregnancy but the workouts are of an appropriate length to manage into your schedule. Having them close to hand was so easy. Also loved how there was never any specific equipment needed for the workouts.

WhatYou'll Learn

Combining my work as a pregnancy yoga teacher and my personal journey through pregnancy, I tailored Prepare My Body to suit every mother seeking a safe and convenient yoga programme looking to thrive through their final 28 weeks and feel prepared for birth.

I’ve carefully designed each class to tap into how you might be feeling week by week. For instance, during Week 28 ‒ “Nourish” week ‒ I´ll address the expected increase in your appetite as your little one continues to grow.

You´ll learn about the best birth positions to ease your baby’s descent and reduce the likelihood of medical interventions.

Ever heard of optimal foetal positioning? I’ll talk you through the theory and poses to encourage your baby into the right position for birth.

Let’s not forget about peanut balls! Even if you’ve opted for an epidural, fear not. I’ll show you how to remain mobile using these versatile tools.

Plus, if you’re dealing with pelvic girdle pain ‒ like I did! ‒ or carpal tunnel syndrome, I´ve got modifications to ensure your comfort throughout the class.

Here’s a closer look at what we’ll be covering:

YourTeacher

I´m Lucy, proud mum-of-two and your pregnancy yoga teacher for the next 28 weeks.

I have been practising yoga since 2007 when I joined my first Bikram yoga class in Melbourne, Australia. Since then, I was hooked. I trained as a pregnancy and prenatal yoga teacher in 2021 and in the biomechanics of birth in 2024.

Filming Prepare My Body while pregnant with my second child, Frankie gave me a deep connection to this course’s material and an understanding of the experiences expectant mothers go through. I am quite literally with you – the whole way!

I firmly believe that every mother deserves to feel supported, empowered, and confident throughout her pregnancy and understanding your body through yoga is a wonderful way to start your journey towards an empowered and connected birth.

That’s why this course is crafted with a compassionate touch, focusing on accessibility and inclusivity. The only people who shouldn’t take this programme (for safety reasons) are those with pre-eclampsia and placenta praevia. Everyone else, dive on in!
